All good things must come to an end…

All good things must come to an end and it’s no different at the Leeds Craft Centre and Design Gallery as they say goodbye to several shows this month. Touring Textile Jewellery Show Intrinsic travels to Folkstone next for another adventure from the 17th October. Gallery Manager spoke of what visitors thought of the show since its arrival in September: “Visitors have come from far and wide to see these intriguing pieces of textile jewellery curated by Mandy Nash (Textile artist and member of the Makers Guild in Wales), and it has been a real privilege to host the show here in Leeds. We’re looking forward to hosting yet another touring jewellery exhibition called Manifest from the 21st October.”

The Gallery also says a fond farewell to their colourful print exhibition of works by Yorkshire artist Catherine Green and Mandy Pattullo. They’re now making preparations to welcome in printmaker Carry Akroyd who will be showcasing some brand new screen prints exploring fields and fens, the natural habitats of birds and other wildlife and rich landscapes/seascapes. Carry’s style is bold and her colour palette vibrant and exciting, a great contribution to The Craft Centre’s exciting Winter Exhibition Programme this year. You can see Carry’s work on display from the 7th November through to February next year but for the time being she’s out in the landscape working hard for her next inspiring collection.
