Celebrate independence with a visit to Leeds Corn Exchange where as well as almost 30 alternative, individual, independent businesses there are a selection of events taking place in the coming weeks offering the chance to pick up a unique gift, spin some new records, and taste some weird and wonderful flavours of popcorn.

Lindy Fridays

Friday 13th May, Friday 10th June 7-10pm

£5 entry including a free drink from Primo’s

Time to get on your dancing shoes! Open to anyone and everyone, dance lovers can enjoy a 30-minute Lindy-Hop swing dance taster class, followed by an evening of dancing at this regular celebration of the infectiously joyful dance that originated in 1920s Harlem, New York. Dancers can fuel themselves on authentic American hotdogs and burgers from Primo’s with their free drink.

Unique Gift Fair

Leeds Gin & Vodka Festival by The Gin Vodka Company

The Gin Vodka Co. are kicking off their 2016 festivals at the Leeds Corn Exchange with a Vodka-riffic twist, and after the first event completely sold out, new dates are now on sale for Friday 27th & Saturday 28th May. This is the UK's first independent Festival promoting both Gin and Vodka in equal measures, and will feature a range of 30 unique vodkas and over 80 Gins. Promoting the history and craftsman ship of both Gin & Vodka is at the heart of the festival, and there will be plenty of history and facts about both Gin & Vodka around the festival, along with live music, street food and tasting sessions. Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fair is a firm favourite with fashionistas across the country and truly lives up to its ‘affordable’ name, with all items price checked to ensure shoppers are paying up to 75% less than high street prices. Selling in style vintage clothing, textiles and homewares, the UK’s largest vintage fair of its kind returns to its home city of Leeds on Saturday 4th June with a selection of vintage, re-worked and handmade stalls all hand-picked by fashion experts.

Record Fair

The monthly record fair returns in May and June for record lovers who didn’t quite manage to fill their boots this Record Store Day. With all budgets catered for and music ranging from funk & soul to acid house, there’s something in this treasure trove of vinyl for everyone. Culture Vulture, a Leeds Corn Exchange shop, now stocks record players for budding vinyl enthusiasts looking to start a collection.
