THE BEST PLACE TO SEE THE BREAKTHROUGH ACTS OF 2016 FIRST!
Celebrating 10 years of breaking the latest and greatest new acts, Live At Leeds 2016 will have over 200 artists playing across the city in what is now becoming the UK’s must go to metropolitan festival. Today Live at Leeds can announce a special, free to all music stage and food area for the festival on Leeds’ most prominent street.
Briggate is one of the oldest streets in Leeds and will welcome Live at Leeds’ first outdoor stage in celebration of their tenth Birthday. Bands to grace the stage will include local favourites Glass Caves mixing it up with music from Fletcher Jackson, Katie Dean, Party Hardly, Where Fires Are and Colour of Spring, bringing exclusive performances from some of Leeds’ hidden soon to breakthrough musical talent.
As well as the music, there is the chance to grab a photo in the Dr Martens pop-up photobooth and a small food area brought to you by Leeds Indie Food, featuring Pizza Fella, Diamond Dogs and Sela Bar bringing their award winning burgers to Briggate, cementing the area as a must visit for a fuel stop and to check out the latest bands.
The area is being run in partnership with Leeds BID (Business Improvement District) and Leeds City Council who are backing the stage in support of Leeds’ biggest multi-site festival which takes place on 30th April.

Colin Oliver, Futuresound Events and Live at Leeds Managing Director said:
“We’re really excited about adding this additional stage to Live at Leeds 2016, with support from Leeds City Council and LeedsBID! It’s something we’ve wanted to do for a long time; bring LAL out of the venues on and onto the streets for the city to enjoy and it gives the public a taste of what amazing musical talent we have in the city. We hope the outside element of LAL will be something we can develop year on year.”
Speaking about this LeedsBID involvement, Andrew Cooper, Chief Executive commented:
“Live at Leeds is a unique and outstanding music event, responsible for showcasing and breaking a huge number of the greatest bands the UK developed over its history. By bringing our support through a pop-up stage into the heart the of the city on Briggate, LeedsBID is delighted to be delivering a showcase enhancement in the festival's 10th year, which will only help raise the profile and bring business growth and success into the Leeds area and profile our great city at an even higher level around the world.”
Councillor Judith Blake, leader of Leeds City Council, said:
“It’s great to see Live at Leeds back for another year giving music lovers the chance to experience some fantastic live acts and also giving some of the city’s outstanding musical talent an exciting opportunity to shine. Live at Leeds goes from strength to strength each year and always generates a positive buzz around the city centre which is a real testament to how passionately people in Leeds feel about music and the arts.”
