Celebrating 10 years of breaking the latest and greatest new acts, Live At Leeds 2016 will have over 200 musical acts playing across the city in what is now becoming a must go to music festival. The city sings to a different beat with stages ranging from Leeds University, O2 Academy, the infamous Brudenell Social Club, Leeds College of Music and a new stage on Leeds’ famous heritage shopping precinct, Briggate.
The line-up this year features 2015’s biggest pop sensation, Brit Award-nominee Jess Glynne, fast rising Liverpool four piece Circa Waves, indie legends We Are Scientists, NME award winner Rat Boy, and a plethora of exciting acts like Ghostpoet, Blossoms, Izzy Bizu and Blood Red Shoes.
Leeds’ very own, award winning Corinne Bailey Rae. Six years on from her last studio album, Corinne is back. Her new, uplifting album ‘The Heart Speaks in Whispers’ was revealed earlier in the week, alongside lead single ‘Been To The Moon.’ She will play an exclusive intimate show at an old favourite venue of hers.
Joining the bill is Shura who is set to have a huge year with the release of her debut album ‘Nothing’s Real’; Australia’s DMA’s who will be following up a massively successful, sold out UK tour and huge new album; Sheffield’s Slow Club return to the festival having played the first ever Live at Leeds and who are also celebrating 10 years as a band; international indie band, The Boxer Rebellion who release their fifth studio album this year, the day before Live at Leeds; and double
Further additions to the mouth watering line-up are Cardiff’s alternative rock favourites Future Of The Left, Manchester’s Spring King, Glasgow’s Fatherson, the fast rising Jones join Will Joseph Cook.
Fresh new Leeds acts announced include Fizzy Blood, NARCS, Clay, Skinny Living, Altar Hanglands, ZoZo, Party Hardly and Atlantic Shore.
Speaking about this year’s talent, booker Aaron Snowdon commented:
“This announcement has a special Leeds feel, with some of the very best local bands taking the stage and announcing a Leeds legend, Corinne Bailey Rae.”
Speaking about the festival’s 10-year legacy Colin Oliver, Director Futuresound said:
"We have seen some great names grace our stages over those ten years and I’m really looking forward to this year and what will hopefully be our biggest event yet, it really feels like we are stepping up another level”
With more names to be announced, as well as details on the accompanying Digital Programme, Live At Leeds 10th Anniversary is set to be a true celebration of creativity and originality, and the only way to kick-start the 2016 festival season.
