LEEDS ILLUSTRATOR KATE MCGUIRE ANNOUNCES PLANT PORTRAITS EXHIBITION ‘GREEN DETAIL’ FOR 3RD DECEMBER
Leeds illustrator Kate McGuire announces new exhibition ‘Green Detail’ – (plant portraits) to take place at Outlaws Yacht Club from 3rd December until 3rd Feb.
‘Green Detail’ - (Plant portraits) will include a collection of six plant portraits set against a 62 sheet fly-posted installation.
In collaboration with McGuire, Joe Ingham at Outlaws has designed a collection of cocktails inspired by the plant portraits. For each cocktail sold, a contribution will be donated to the charity, Music and Art Production Leeds http://www.musicandartsproduction.org
The launch will be on 3rd December from 7pm at Outlaws Yacht Club, 38 New York Street, Leeds, LS2 7DY.
Kate McGuire trained at Central St Martins and works from East Street Art’s Patrick Street Studios, Leeds. Kate has travelled the world feeding her love of botanics, observing wild flowers in the private gardens of France, producing plant portraits within an urban community garden in Berlin and documenting fruits and vegetables from the walled garden in a grand estate in Yorkshire. Mcguire’s work is a fluid, delicate examination of the structures, form and textures of plant life.
