Festive Treats at Leeds Town Hall this Christmas
The City’s favourite building, Leeds Town Hall, hosts an eclectic programme of live music and special Clocktower Toursthis December to get you into the Christmas spirit!
Musical highlights include a performance of Handel’s Messiah (10 Dec) by Leeds’ own Leeds Philharmonic Chorus, Inspiration Choir and the Orchestra of Opera North present God Bless Us, Everyone! (17 Dec) and delight your family with the enchanted animated film The Snowman shown on our giant screen, accompanied by the Orchestra of Opera North (18 Dec). Come prepared to sing festive carols at the 2016 Lord Mayor’s Carol Concerts accompanied by the well-loved Rothwell Temperance Brass Band (15 Dec) and join us on New Year’s Eve at the Viennese Whirl for a wonderful afternoon concert of waltzes, marches and polkas (31 Dec).
Explore the hidden secret side to the Town Hall with a Christmas Lights Clocktower Tour (7 Dec, 14 Dec & 21 Dec). This is a chance to stand at the dock where prisoners once stood, sit at the judge’s bench in the Courtroom, see the Victorian prison cells and climb the 203 steps to the top of the clock tower to admire the Christmas lights across Leeds!
