Speedqueen is a Leeds institution, and has been running for over a decade at various venues in the city. It is hosted this summer at Kerbcrawler, which opened last year and is the perfect venue for this glamorous, friendly night. Speedqueen is classed as a gay-friendly night, and it's open-mindedness is a big reason why it is and has been so successful.

Launched in April 2009 as the biggest gay night to hit Leeds in years, Back Door Disco certainly made an impact and helped to revitalise gay Saturday nights! The venue (through the Fiori flower shop next to Mission) features two rooms and two floors, a decadent VIP retreat, a wall-to-wall bar and a 600 capacity dance arena. Running from 11pm til 5am every Saturday, it's a mere £5 entry. Expect a switched on crowd of sharp dressing boys and girls, while resident DJs keep you on the dancefloor with a mix of modern-to-the-minute pop, mainstream dance and commercial house.

Part of the Queen's Court complex, The Loft club is open Monday, Friday and Saturday nights and is the only permanent gay club in the city. Monday nights sees it play host to the popular Pink Pounder, with all branded drinks from just £1 and camp & fluffy music on both floors. Fridays and Saturdays are more of the same, with cheap admission and a few more recent chart and club anthems thrown in.

Federation originally started off as a gay night under the arches of Leeds' train station 6 years ago. Within months it had turned into the place to be, regardless of gender or sexual orientation. It's current home is the amazing industrial warehouse space of Victoria Works, on the outskirts of Leeds' City Centre. Expect lavish stage, sound and light shows and 2 huge arenas of music. Past events have featured oompa-lumpas, 8 foot robots, a Punch & Judy show and walking Christmas Trees. Mixmag has named it club of the month twice, it's that good! Advance tickets are recommended as it regularly sells out.
