Good Value Eats

Fuji Hiro is one of Leeds' hidden gems. It has a simple decor but the food is fantastic and great value for money. The cuisine is Japanese, with a wonderful range of rice, noodles, curry and ramen soup dishes, with fresh vegetables, tasty tofu, meat and fish. The food is wholesome, delicious and filling.

The unique flavours and textures of Wokon's dishes are inspired by Thai, Malaysian, Indonesian, Chinese and Japanese cooking. Experience a fusion of colour, taste and mouth-watering aromas from only the freshest ingredients, meaning the meals are healthier too. Whilst it's fast food (prepared in under 5 minutes - before your eyes) - it isn't junk food. Eat in or take out in funky New York style Chinese boxes.

In the heart of Hyde Park, Moorish offers a good Moroccan alternative to your average coffee shop and a satisfyingly authentic experience. As you enter, the fragrance of incense and spices fire up your senses and encourage you to pull up a cushion. The menu is simple yet exotic- mezzes are great if you want to try a bit of everything.

Ephesus Mangal is always full of happy diners basking in the aroma of grilled meats and spices. This Turkish grill restaurant is located near Leeds train station, and due to not having a drinks license it invites you to Bring Your Own, which helps to keep the costs down. The portions are generous and the atmosphere is very laid back, adding to the holiday vibe!

Anthony's Patisserie is located in a bustling central arcade in The Victoria Quarter, underneath Britain's largest stained glass roof. It is the ideal spot to take a break from shopping and indulge in a breakfast pastry, light lunch or sweet afternoon treat. A great value introduction to Anthony's eateries.

Vineet Bhatia, the first Indian chef to be awarded a Michelin star, proudly presents The Bird by Vineet, a contemporary Indian restaurant at Alea casino, Leeds. The prices are less than half those of Vineet's London restaurant, and even lower than the cost of a takeaway. Yet the standard of the food is exceptional, and the buzzing, stylish restaurant is a delightful setting.

At The Spice Quarter you can choose from over 100 dishes in the first floor buffet area, visiting various 'quarters' in the open-plan kitchen. Choose Chinese and Thai dishes from the oriental quarter, kebabs, south Indian pancakes and curry from the Indian quarter, pasta and pizza from the Italian quarter, and leave room for the salad and dessert counters. Eat as much as you like for one fixed price - £14.95 for weekend evenings, cheaper on weekdays and lunchtimes.
