Meet a Miner Underground Tour

Meet a Miner Underground Tour

Come and get festive this November at Kirkwood Hospice's exciting Christmas Experience, hosted at the National Coal Mining Museum.

Following the huge success of last year’s event, with over 1,500 visitors, Kirkwood’s Christmas Experience is back in its 10th year, now running over two days to give you an extra day of magical Christmas fun.

With an entry fee of just £2 for adults (free parking) and free entry for children under 16, you can visit an array of traditional Christmas stalls showcasing a range of treats from perfect presents to food and drink, as well as children’s gifts.

Come and see an exciting range of family-fun entertainments such as local school choirs, brass bands and Santa’s Craft Workshop; a creative craft area for all your children’s festive activity needs.

There’s also a rumour that Santa himself will make an appearance at this year’s Christmas Experience! For the first time ever, take a train down to Santa’s Grotto for your chance to meet the man himself (if you’re on the nice list)!

Tickets to visit Santa will be available to pre-book from the beginning of October so keep an eye on our website for more information:
