The Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery

The Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery

Have you ever heard the legend of Tolkien’s house or the space-age buildings where a science fiction series was said to have been filmed? Perhaps you’ve wondered about the history of unusual items in the Library’s Special Collections, from the Nobel Prize to a blank sheet of paper with an impressive provenance.

In connection with Local History Month, this fun afternoon talk and discussion, led by Liza Giffen and Richard High, will be re-telling and dispelling of some of the weirdest and most wonderful campus myths. We’ll explore the history local to the University through archival sources and material from the collections, as well as inviting people to bring along stories and recollections of their own.

Free event, all welcome. No booking necessary but limited seating so please arrive early.
