Vicky Grindrod (West Yorkshire Archive Service) delves into the records to reveal some of the crimes children were sent to industrial schools for in the Victorian and Edwardian eras, from being found wandering or stealing apples to more serious misdemeanours. Comer here these tales of individual struggles against adversity, many of which are illustrated by photographs.This talk is a tie-in to 2016's 'Crime and Punishment' exhibition at Abbey House Museum.
