Ahead of a one-off special night which sees Nicky Siano flying in from New York to play at Duke Studios, we are screening Nicky's Film Love Is The Message: A Night At The Gallery.
The film, directed by Jim Bidgood, captures rare footage from a night at The Gallery in 1977. Alongside The Loft and Paradise Garage, Siano's Manhattan club was central to the rise of disco in the 1970s. "I feel as if I have worked my entire career for this moment," says Siano, who features in the film alongside The Loft founder David Mancuso and Frankie Knuckles.
Love Is The Message: A Night At The Gallery party 1977 is just that. Not a long boring documentary about the early club scene, but an actual experience of the scene, first hand, with the greatest club scenes of the 70’s in existence.
Shown in Duke Studios Event space on a 5m screen with quality sound.
