Concert takes place between 1.05pm - 1.55pm.Amy Harman - bassoonJonathan Ware - pianoSchumann - Three RomancesMozart - Bassoon and Piano SonataMendelssohn - Songs without wordsDutilleux - Sarabande et cortègeAmy Harman studied at the Royal College of Music with Andrea de Flammineis, Julie Price and Martin Gatt, and with František Herman at the Hudební Fakulta Akademie Múzických Umení in Prague.In 2011 Amy was appointed Principal Bassoon of the Philharmonia at the age of 24, and in 2014 she was selected for representation by Young Classical Artists Trust.Engagements over the last year have included a performance of Strauss’ Concertino with the English Chamber Orchestra and solo recitals in Hamburg, Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room, Sage Gateshead, Bath International, Lichfield and Devizes Festivals.Passionate about bringing the bassoon to a wider audience, in 2012 Amy appeared as a ‘flying soloist’ in Birmingham Opera’s premiere of Stockhausen’s Mittwoch aus Licht where she performed from a trapeze suspended above the audience.As a chamber musician, Amy has been a member of Ensemble 360 since 2010.Amy is a Professor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Royal Academy of Music.

When entering the city, follow the brown road signs for ‘West Yorkshire Playhouse’ at Quarry Hill, just off the A64 York Road in the centre of Leeds – or you can follow the City Centre Loop signs.
Major attractions, including the West Yorkshire Playhouse, are identified on the Loop signs. The Conservatoire is at Loop Junction 12.
Please note the Conservatoire does not have any car parking space. We recommend that visitors use the multi-storey car park on Harper Street near Leeds Kirkgate Market.
