The third instalment of The City Talking X BBC film series, Music in Leeds will premiere at Leeds International Festival, telling stories from the city’s extensive — and often untold — music history.
While no documentary can tell every story of a city’s sound, the stories in this volume will contribute to the larger narrative of community, experimentation, DIY philosophies and independent ethics; themes that were explored in Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 that are integral to the music Leeds has made and shared with the world.
The City Talking: Music in Leeds, Vol. 3 features appearances from members of the band Chumbawamba, Marc Almond, Daniel Miller from Mute Records, Scritti Politti’s Tom Morley, DJ’s Gip Dammone and Lubi Jovanovic from the DIG Family and more.
The film is produced in partnership with the BBC, and supported by LeedsBID.

Head for Leeds city centre from all directions. In Leeds city centre, follow signs for the City Loop - a one way system around the city. When having passed the Town Hall on your left follow the road to the right. Signs for The Light will appear, and the car park entrance is on the right, just after the Cathedral.
By Public Transport:
From Leeds city train station, walk out of either of the main entrances and walk straight up Park Row (there are many banks on this road). Cross over The Headrow, and The Light is on the corner by the Radisson BLU hotel.
