It's a Wonderful Life

It's a Wonderful Life

IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE is without a doubt one of the most popular and enduring films ever made and an annual fixture here at the Picture House. For the uninitiated the film opens with angels discussing George Bailey, a man so beset with problems that he loses sight of the true effect of his good deeds. I'm not kidding when I say that IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE get's better every time I see it. The depths Stewart plumbs as he loses his way have a darkness rarely seen and it is exactly this sharpness which makes the sweetness and genuine optimism and hope which sit at the film's heart seem so believable. I hope you can join us for one of our screenings but if not track it down somewhere, anywhere, watch it and be encouraged for encouragement is a real gift to be treasured at this time of year.DIRECTOR: Frank CapraDETAILS: US, 1946, 121mins, PGSTARRING: James Stewart, Donna Reed, Lionel Barrymore, Thomas Mitchell
