Youth Anthems # 14 - Festivus!Right people this is how we're going to see out 2016! It's another family friendly, welcoming to all Sunday matinee gig. I would genuinely advise getting tickets for this one as although I will keep some tickets back for the door, with this line up I am fairly certain it'll sell out so if you're thinking of getting to this gig more than about five minutes after doors then get yourself some peace of mind and head to Jumbo Records in real life or via the ticket link here (https://www.facebook.com/events/334495853556135)Alongside the usual cakes, great drink selection and good time vibes we will be having a raffle (with some seriously cool prizes!) and the following mind blowing bands..!COWTOWNhttp://cowtown.bandcamp.com/Yes you read that right, we have Cowtown playing at Youth Anthems! The legendary local new-wave/indie/whatever trio have honed a special family friendly set (which you may have seen at The Tetley earlier this year if you were lucky enough to have snagged a ticket before it sold out!). Four albums into their musical journey they really are a joy to behold. Drums, keyboard and guitar with dual vocals there really is nothing like Cowtown - I've said bring your dancing shoes before but seriously wear some comfy boogie boots for this one!THE CUT UPS http://www.thecutups.com/ Where to begin? I'm trying to reel in my inner hyperbole but The Cut Ups inspire so many great words; inspirational, positive, lovely, genius and any more you care to add. I've been a huge fan of the band since their incredible first album back in 2006 and they've progressed to become one of the greatest bands the UK has to offer with three more albums since. Playing life affirming indie tinged punk The Cut Ups are just the remedy for the often bleak situation we find ourselves in at these times.THE POP UP PEOPLEhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZQ7S_L6HLo&feature=youtu.beThis newish outfit feature members of some very well known (and loved!) local bands and I've popped a video link above to give you a good idea of what to expect as it's a hard task to describe! Pop culture fixated fun time pop and indie might be a good place to start but it could go anywhere from there. Prepare for aching faces from all the grinning!I will let people know if tickets are going scarce as we'll be selling them in blocks of 25 through Jumbo but I really would suggest picking them up. The venue is 200 capacity but for these gigs we keep it down to 150 (including Children) so as not to be too full for the younger folk. It's still totally free for Children so there will only be 100 tickets on sale to make sure there's plenty of room for young people. I'll keep 20 back for the door but don't rely on these if you don't have to!Any questions fire away as usual to email@example.com
