COLUMBIA THREADNEEDLE WORLD TRIATHLON LEEDS 2017
The Columbia Threadneedle World Triathlon Leeds 2017 returns to the city for a second time on 10-11 June 2017, representing the pinnacle of triathlon competition in the UK and providing more than 5,000 recreational triathletes with the unique opportunity to compete on much of the same course as the world’s best.
The Columbia Threadneedle World Triathlon Leeds is the fourth leg of 2017’s ITU World Triathlon Series, which sees the world’s top triathletes competing across the globe for rankings points that determine the overall ITU world champion.
2017's event will also provide 5,000 amateur triathletes with the unique opportunity to compete on much of the same course, in one of three mass participation distances, listed below.
SPRINT DISTANCE – For those looking for a bit more of a challenge, the sprint distance event is a great option.
STANDARD DISTANCE - The standard distance event will plays host to the British Standard Distance Triathlon Championships, but is also accessible to the first timer or beginner looking to take on the longer distance.
GO TRI – The perfect beginner friendly option, with manageable distances and a fun, relaxed environment.
The GO TRI event takes place on Saturday 10 June. Sunday 11 June will see the sprint and standard distances mass participation races take place in the morning, with the elite athletes taking to the stage on Sunday afternoon.
The 2017 Columbia Threadneedle World Triathlon Leeds is being organised exclusively by British Triathlon, in partnership with Leeds City Council, UK Sport and the ITU.

Saturday 10 June, Roundhay Park
GO TRI is open to anybody aged 15 or over, and is especially aimed at those new to the sport. With manageable distances and set in the beautiful surroundings of Roundhay Park, the GO TRI event is for those who want to give the sport a go for the first time. You will need to wear a wetsuit and a road-worthy bike (though this doesn’t need to be a fancy one!) You can hire both of these from the event organisers if you need to.
