Febuary Fun In Leeds

1st February 2020

HAPPY HALF TERM

Leeds Museums and Galleries are here to fill your half term with fun!
Love is in the air at Lotherton as they celebrate the wonderful birds at their Wildlife World, visit the mischievous meerkats at Tropical World, and explore the Discovery Centre’s huge collection of insects and creepy crawlies.
There’s a treasure trail and crafts at Temple Newsam and Abbey House Museum, Leeds Art Gallery invite you to draw, build and play, head to Leeds Industrial Museum to have a go at programmable lego, and celebrate Wonderful Weaving and Fabulous Fashions with Leeds City Museum.
Some of your favourite superheroes from comic books and the big screen will be assembling at the Royal Armouries Museum. And there’s still time to strap on those skates with a visit to the Ice Cube in Millennium Square.

VALENTINE’S DAY

Celebrate Valentine’s Day in Leeds with that special someone, or grab your friends for some Pal-entine’s Day fun.
Be whisked off your feet (hopefully not literally) ice skating in Millennium Square or at the Valentine’s Roller Disco Party at Leeds Corn Exchange.
It’s not just your heart that will be doing flips at Leeds Valentines Fair or keep your feet firmly on the ground with a walk around the gardens and grounds at Temple Newsam, Kirkstall Abbey or Lotherton.
Discover something new together; explore the art in Leeds, then enjoy a fantastical evening of opera with Opera North’s season at Leeds Grand Theatre.
They say the way to a person’s heart is through their stomach. With award-winning restaurants, independent eateries and rooftop retreats in Leeds, you’re sure to find dishes as divine as your date.
And if it all goes well, there’s an excellent range of hotels too…

SPECTACULAR SHOWS

Leeds is the only English city outside London to have its own resident opera and ballet companies, the internationally renowned and award-winning Opera North and Northern Ballet. Opera North are currently showing three spectacular shows at Leeds Grand Theatre: Street Scene, The Marriage of Figaro and The Turn of the Screw. While Northern Ballet are warming up for the world première of their breath-taking new ballet, Geisha, in March.
With four major theatres in Leeds, including Leeds Playhouse who have recently been named Theatre Building of the year 2020 thanks to an incredible redevelopment, an arena and a plethora of live music venues, there’s a ticket with your name on it.

COCKTAILS IN THE CITY

Cocktails in the City returns to Leeds Town Hall on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd February, bringing together the city’s greatest bars under one roof for an evening of fun, unique drinking experiences, award-winning street food and great value cocktails.
