Socially Distanced Celebrating

9th December 2020

A lot of our Christmas and New Year Celebrations are going to be in our own homes this year. Whether that’s a works’ Christmas Party shared via Zoom or a New Year’s Eve Party with just your own household, we all deserve some fun and tasty treats after this trying year.

Fortunately many Leeds businesses have thought of this and have begun delivering just the sort of delicious goodness you’d enjoy on a night out straight to your home.

Fancy a pizza making party? You could compete with colleagues to see whose turns out the best but you want it to taste great whatever shape it ends up. So the Ideal solution is to have someone who knows what they’re doing do the tricky bits like making a really good dough and selecting the finest ingredients for you.

You’re in luck! Roland’s  will deliver a Frizza pizza kit with enough for 4 pizzas and you can opt to add in extras like pepperoni or wood fired red peppers to top your tasty creations.

Plus you can order some of their fabulous cocktails with your pizza kit. They even do an eggnog for full on festive flavour.

Maybe you fancy a sophisticated cheese and wine night?  Chapel Allerton’s specialist Cheesemongers George and Joseph will deliver a cheese tasting at home kit or even a full on party platter if you’re a big family. Perfect for a light Christmas Eve supper or something to keep you going as you count down to midnight on New Year’s Eve. They’ll even deliver the same kits to nearby friends and family so you can show someone your thinking about them and share notes on your favourite cheese out of the selection.

Do you have a carnivore in your house that’s missing the meat feast that is Fazenda?

If so, then a Fazenda at Home box might be the perfect festive treat for them.  Hearty helpings of quality meat and all the extras to help you recreate their favourite restaurant at home.

So it’s the big day but you’re not exactly a Michelin star chef in the kitchen or you’re a good cook but really deserve a break. In a normal year you might book a table at your favourite pub or restaurant for Christmas Dinner. Don’t worry put the frozen ready meal back in the freezer because there are Leeds restaurants who will either deliver you a full Christmas dinner to your doorstep or have it all boxed up for you to collect (So no need to fight over the last turkey in super market).  All you’ll have to do is warm them through when you’re ready to feast.

Heanly & Mill  in Headingley are already well known for their great roast dinners. So who better to make the biggest dinner of the year for you? They’ll deliver a 5 course roast dinner to you all ready to just pop in the oven on the big day. With a choice of 3 different starters and mains (including a vegetarian option) and finishing off with coconut snowball truffles (if you have room).

Perhaps you fancy an Italian style Christmas? Another of Headingley’s favourite restaurants, Salvos, are serving that Italian celebration classic roast porchetta with lots of Italian style trimmings. You can pick up your 3 course dinner all boxed up (with instructions ) on the 23rd or Christmas Eve ready to heat up and eat up your deliciously different Christmas Dinner on the big day.

Kirkgate Market’s first ever pub The Owl are offering a whopping 7 courses of traditional British fare with a twist. Definitely one for Cheese lovers as you start with Lincolnshire Poacher cheese bread, roasted onion butter, Dale End cheddar custard and end your meal with Ported Colston Bassett Stilton, candied walnuts, Christmas Yorkshire Brack, winter chutney. You can ether pick it up from the Market (a good opportunity to get in some last minute shopping) or they’ll deliver it on the 22nd or 23rd.
