MAKE IT LEEDS THIS CHRISTMAS FOR A MAGICAL WINTER ESCAPE
08/12/2017
Leeds is a truly enchanting place in Winter and a visit here is sure to get even the sternest of Scrooges into the festive spirit! Enjoy magical and historical markets, a mouth-wateringly great food & drink scene, plus plenty of merriment & joy for all the family.
Immerse yourself in festive fantasy at Yorkshire’s first Grimm’s Fairy Tale themed Christmas Market – located in the stunning grounds of Kirkstall Abbey. Climb through the enchanted book cover into a magical scene of stocking-fillers, one-of-kind gifts, live music & performances.
Hidden away, deep inside Temple Newsam House is a fantastically festive creation worthy of Santa’s most enterprising elves! This wonderful workshop is the latest addition to 500 spectacular years of Christmas celebrations at the beautiful mansion, and will be taking place on Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th December.
Be astounded by the beauty of ballet, cosy up by the fire with a winter warmer or two, wonder at the magical lanterns, and enjoy a weekend of comfort & joy that you’ll never forget! This is Christmas with a difference.
TICK OFF YOUR CHRISTMAS SHOPPING LIST
Leeds is the third largest shopping destination outside London, making us the perfect place to pick up those Christmas parcels. You’ll find all your high street favourites here but did you know about all the wonderful independent shops in the city?! Housed in stunning Victorian arcades, these stores are a treasure trove of hand-made delights.
A Christmas shopping trip in Leeds isn’t complete without a visit to the city’s historic Kirkgate Market. They’re spreading the Christmas cheer with a programme of events including a record & book fair, Farmers Market on Briggate, and a Festive Night Market.
Plus, many of Leeds’ shops and centres are staying open even later to help you get all those last minute essentials and stocking fillers.
