Leeds to welcome Royal College of Anaesthetists for annual event set to inspire future generations

ConferenceLeeds is celebrating the city’s continuous healthcare sector success, as the city has been chosen to host the Royal College of Anaesthetists’ (RCoA) annual training meeting, which will be held between 14th –15th June 2018. The event, which anticipates approximately 400 anaesthetists to gather at the New Dock Conference Centre on Clarence Dock, aims to improve the quality of postgraduate training in Anaesthesia, Intensive Care Medicine and Pain Medicine administration.

This is the first time the conference is coming to Leeds and will provide a forum for current trainers to network with those in the profession and discuss a range of current issues and updates in the field.

As well as the event, delegates will also be attending a conference dinner which will be held at the historic Royal Armouries museum, which is a unique space for any event or conference. The Royal Armouries is the sister museum to The Tower of London and is the UK’s national museum which is home to the National Collection of Arms and Armour.

ConferenceLeeds was called upon to help secure the conference because of its expert knowledge of the city, which was utilised to select a venue. The event organisers were introduced to many event spaces across the city before selecting the Royal Armouries and the spacious New Dock Conference Centre, a minimalist and contemporary space that provides the perfect blank canvas for any conference to adapt making it ideal for networking amongst large groups and for the RCoA.

Claire Heap, Head of ConferenceLeeds, said: “We are thrilled that the Royal College of Anaesthetists has chosen Leeds as its location to inspire and train future generations. The healthcare sector in the city continues to go from strength to strength, and this further conference win showcases this. We are always keen to support conference organisers as much as possible and we are so pleased that we found a venue that suits RCoA perfectly, so that the conference came to Leeds for the first time in its history.”
