ConferenceLeeds is celebrating Leeds’ thriving digital sector strength following the immense success of the recent Leeds Digital Festival. The event, which is the North’s largest digital festival, was held in April 2018 and is a city-wide, open platform celebration of all things digital. Taking place over two weeks, with 660 speakers, 400 companies involved and a total of 20,000 attendees, this year’s event was the biggest yet.

MEETinLEEDS is celebrating the success of the recent 17th Food Colloids Conference: Application of Soft Matter Concepts, which took place between 8th – 11th April 2018 at the University of Leeds. MEETinLEEDS collaborated with the School of Food Science and Nutrition to welcome 300 delegates from 29 nations who attended the conference to expand and exchange knowledge in Food Colloids. The event marked the return of the conference to the UK after 14 years and was a major success, with a record-breaking number of high quality posters in the conferences’ history.

Leeds welcomes 3,000 delegates to the city with the largest Medieval Congress in Europe

The International Medieval Congress (IMC), based at the University of Leeds, takes place between 2-5 July 2018 at the University and will see nearly 3,000 medievalists from 66 countries visit Leeds – the largest IMC in its history.

Leeds to welcome Royal College of Anaesthetists for annual event set to inspire future generations

ConferenceLeeds is celebrating the city’s continuous healthcare sector success, as the city has been chosen to host the Royal College of Anaesthetists’ (RCoA) annual training meeting, which will be held between 14th –15th June 2018. The event, which anticipates approximately 400 anaesthetists to gather at the New Dock Conference Centre on Clarence Dock, aims to improve the quality of postgraduate training in Anaesthesia, Intensive Care Medicine and Pain Medicine administration.

Leeds chosen as the Northern Pilot for U3A’s new programme of workshops

ConferenceLeeds is celebrating Leeds being selected as the Northern pilot destination for a new range of workshops from the national charity U3A (University of the Third Age). The initial event will take place on the 12th and 13th February 2018 at the Met Hotel. This is the first of a new programme of training advice and networking opportunities run by the U3A national body – the Third Age Trust – who look after and support the movement’s 1,018 U3As.

The Yorkshire Event Centre (YEC) and NAS Media have signed a contract for a new ‘National Apprenticeship Show, Yorkshire and the North East’.

Following the success of their launch shows earlier this year, NAS Media will be holding their event in the new £11m Hall 1 at the YEC. ‘The National Apprenticeship Show Yorkshire and the North East’ will be taking place on Thursday 9th and Friday 10th March 2017.

Nationwide campaign comes to Leeds to inspire the next generation into Hospitality and Tourism

The Leeds Hotels and Venues Association is delighted to announce that The Big Hospitality Conversation will be coming to Leeds on 26th September at the Queens Hotel, Leeds. This will be the first time that the event has come to the city as part of a nationwide campaign by the British Hospitality Association, which looks to create up to 60,000 hospitality jobs for young people by the end of 2016.
