ConferenceLeeds is celebrating Leeds’ continuously flourishing healthcare sector as the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) has chosen the city to host its National Trainees Conference for the first time. The annual conference will be taking place from the 16th – 17th November at the Royal Armouries International, bringing 200 delegates to the city.

Public Sector Communications Academy selects Leeds for 2017 conference

ConferenceLeeds has announced that the Public Sector Communications Academy conference will be taking place on the 18th and 19th October at Cloth Hall Court in Leeds, following a successful bid through the city’s conference ambassador programme. The annual national conference, which is organised by LGCommunications and the Government Communications Service, will see 600 of the country’s leading public sector communications professionals visit the city.

A delegation of senior events industry representatives visited Leeds today to learn about the city’s growing success in attracting business visits and events to the region.

Members of the events industry’s Business Visits & Events Partnership were given an overview of the city’s impressive meetings and events venues by Jennifer Young, Head of Visit and Conference Leeds. The delegation also enjoyed a tour of unique business and cultural venues including Cloth Hall Court, the First Direct Arena and the Northern Ballet in the city’s central cultural quarter.

This year’s International Association of Language Centres Workshop (IALC) brought international delegates from over 20 different countries to the Leeds City Region, as well as student recruitment agencies from over 35 countries. In total, IALC saw approximately 350 national and international delegates head to Leeds in April – the first time the workshop has been held in the UK since 1989.
