Once a major trading centre for the textile industry in Leeds, between the 18th- 19th centuries, this Grade II listed building has undergone a multi-million-pound refurbishment and is now a contemporary dedicated conference venue. Set to open in July, Cloth Hall Court will be the latest addition to Well Met’s portfolio of venues and has already received around £700k worth of enquires.

thestudioleeds undergoes expansion to double in size

10 years since launching, thestudio seems to be winning at the numbers game: less than one year after opening in a fourth location, the group’s third venue is gearing up for expansion works that will double its existing size. thestudioleeds will be taking over the floor adjacent to it, adding an extra 7,000 sq. ft. to the space and creating four new rooms. This will take the venues total room count to 11, capable of accommodating from 2 to 185 guests, just in time for thestudioleeds’ second birthday in September this year.

Hampton by Hilton makes Leeds debut

LEEDS, UK and MCLEAN, Va. – 14 March 2017 - Hilton (NYSE: HLT) has signed a franchise agreement for the 14 storey Hampton by Hilton Leeds City Centre in the north-eastern area of the city centre. The 192 guestroom hotel, which is expected to open in late 2019, will be part of the first phase of a new, landmark regeneration project being developed by a consortium of Singapore-listed companies led by Heeton Holdings Ltd. The project will make an impactful contribution in extending the quality of the city centre beyond the inner ring road.

Reworking the fabric of Leeds: The History and Future of Cloth Hall Court

With the opening of Leeds newest dedicated conferencing facility on the horizon, Well Met are considering the final touches to the historic Cloth Hall Court site with its heritage led interior design and state-of-the-art facilities.

The building was originally constructed for the purpose of trading cloth, specifically ‘Yorkshire Broadcloths’, which were cheap, good quality cloths that were produced in the surrounding areas. These specialised cloths formed the fabric of the city, as Leeds quickly gained traction in its status as a centre for commerce and trade in the wool and cloth industries.
