Public Sector Communications Academy selects Leeds for 2017 conference

ConferenceLeeds has announced that the Public Sector Communications Academy conference will be taking place on the 18th and 19th October at Cloth Hall Court in Leeds, following a successful bid through the city’s conference ambassador programme. The annual national conference, which is organised by LGCommunications and the Government Communications Service, will see 600 of the country’s leading public sector communications professionals visit the city.

You may have seen in the national press that HRH Prince Harry visited Leeds last week. He attended the Leeds Fund event at Aspire on Thursday 6th of July 2017. The event was put together by the Leeds Community Foundation, and hosted by Aspire, to raise awareness of mental health within young people.

Full steam ahead for Leeds’ visitor economy performance as city prepares to submit European Capital

VisitLeeds have announced that data from the recent STEAM survey, which measures the economic impact of the tourism industry in the UK, recorded that Leeds welcomed 27.29 million tourism visits in 2016, a 4.2% increase from 2015. These figures support the overall upward trend for visitor numbers which has shown a notable 9.7% increase between 2013 and 2016.
