The best spots to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Leeds

This New Year’s there is plenty for all to enjoy in Leeds. Here is a round up of some of the amazing events in the city this year to help you wave goodbye to 2024 and say hello to 2025!

SPECTACULAR SHOW

The wonderful festive shows at theatres across Leeds continue into the New Year, including afternoon performances on New Year’s Eve. Shows like Mr Snow and The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe at the Leeds Playhouse, or Northern Ballet’s A Christmas Carol at Leeds Grand Theatre.  A panto is also a wonderful way to cheer out the year. ‘Oh no it isn’t!’, ‘OH YES IT IS!’ Watch Beauty & The Beast at Carriageworks or go for a jukebox musical with Jack and the Beanstalk: The Rock n Roll Panto at City Varieties Music Hall.

FUN FOR THE FAMILY

The Christmas Experience at Lotherton is a magical journey through the enchanting world of Christmas. Book now to explore the Christmas Traditions Woodland Walk, and Elf Village and marvel at Lotherton’s splendour in the Hall and lit gardens. Warm up with a hot chocolate or mulled wine. At Temple Newsam you can experience Yorkshire’s longest light art trail at Northern Lights. Or head to Millennium Square for a joyful experience for all ages, featuring an array of exciting activities and attractions including the much-loved Ice Cube:  outdoor ice rink, festive funfair rides and other winter themed attractions.

The Domino Club will have favourites Leeds City Stompers and Yubaba help you bring in the New Year with a night full of great drinks, live music, and good vibes! Join the Queens of the Old Woollen for their annual Glamour Pussy NYE party full of campy fun. Who’s that diva? Why it’s Precious McMichaels hosting New Year’s at Viaduct Showbar where the cocktails will be flowing well after the ball drops!
