Blackhouse steps into summer with new menu and gin garden

19th May 2019

Blackhouse is the ultimate place to be in Leeds when it comes to prime steak and premium cocktails, and their latest menu is once again full of temptation. Add to this the arrival of a stunning Gin Garden for al-fresco cocktail sipping and an event calendar worth clearing your diary for, and you’ve got summer in the city all sewn up.

Due to overwhelming popular demand, Saturday Bottomless Brunch will continue to serve up mouth-watering food and quality drinks to those seeking a more refined brunch experience. Offering a main course and 90 minutes of free-flowing Prosecco, beer or house wine for just £30, it’s an essential experience not to be missed.

The Gin Garden will make its debut on Friday 24th May, just in time for the Bank Holiday weekend. Expect premium pours featuring the finest gins from Martin Miller’s Gin, along with a prime spot for unparalleled people-watching.

A real showstopper…

The summer 2019 food menu features an extensive selection of new dishes, with a strong focus on seafood to reflect the forthcoming summer season. Showstopping highlights include the exceptional Loch Duart Seared Salmon, which is sourced from the choppy waters of one of Scotland’s most respected suppliers.

Elsewhere on the menu, the Chargrilled Swordfish served with skinny fries and pico de gallo gives traditional fish and chips a posh twist, while the Stonebass Fillet is a little more elegant with its accompanying spinach, capers, vine tomato and beurre blanc.

Vegetarian starters include the delicate twice baked Cauliflower Cheese Souffle served with a sweet pickled red cabbage, and the moreish Torched Red Pepper Houmous with a side of garlic crisp breads and crudités.
For mains, the mighty Miso Glazed Aubergine Steak packs some powerful flavours, and is complemented with a side of jewelled cous cous, red pepper houmous and scorched cherry tomatoes.

Spring lamb

Carnivores will find it hard to resist the Plate of Chops, which offers diners the option of spring lamb or juicy pork (or both!), and the Half-Roasted Chicken with skinny chips, stuffing and proper gravy is the stuff comfort food dreams are made of.

For the steak-loving regulars, the tried-and-tested prime cuts of beef that made the Grill on the Square a Leeds icon will still be present and correct. With cuts harking from Argentina, Australia, Ireland and England all featured on the menu, steak joints don’t get any better than this.

With a minimum 28 days wet and dry aged, each steak is also air dried for 24 hours in a Himalayan Rock Salt chamber for supreme flavour.

Boozy dessert

Those looking to finish their meal on a sweet note will love the divine additions to the dessert menu. From the homemade Cookies and Cream Cheesecake to the decadent Chocolate and Peanut Butter Fondant, these puddings are well worth taking a hit on the calorie front for.

Those that like their desserts a little boozy, look no further than the Smokey Old Fashioned Affogato. With vanilla ice-cream, espresso and a little Old Fashioned, it’s the ultimate after dinner treat for Don Draper enthusiasts everywhere.
Grill on the Square will continue to offer its unbeatable express lunch menu, where you can pick up a main course for £10 Monday-Friday from 12-4pm. You can even take coffee and cake back to the office for an extra £2 – choose from Salted Caramel, or White Chocolate and Raspberry.

Turn up on Sunday for the legendary Blackhouse Roast, and enjoy 1 course for £14.50, 2 courses for £19.50 or 3 courses for £24.50. Available on a first come first served basis, once they’re gone, they’re gone!
