Latin vibes and club classics at the Brewery Wharf Festival 2018

17th June 2018

Get ready to shake your booty on Saturday 23rd June, because it’s fiesta time at the Brewery Wharf Festival! The annual Leeds Waterfront Festival is a party we look forward to every year here at Pink Gorilla, and we’re honoured to be organising the festivities over in Brewery Wharf this year.

The area has come along leaps and bounds in recent years and has one of the closest communities you’ll find in central Leeds. All the local tenants are getting into the spirit and chipping, so you can expect a hog roast, BBQ, street food vendors, awesome cocktails (and mocktails for the kids) and outdoor entertainment from the likes of 212 Bar, Oracle, Azucar, Yum Yum’s, Jury’s Inn and Sainsbury’s.

A family affair

The festival runs from 12-7pm and typically attracts people of all ages, from kids to golden oldies, making it a truly family affair. Anyone that fancies themselves as the next Drake or Dua Lipa can take the opportunity to show off their pipes in the Sing It to Win It karaoke competition, which kicks off mid-afternoon with some amazing prizes for the best vocalists.
High energy party band The Rebel Sounds will take to the stage later in the day, treating the crowds to a set of rousing club classics, so expect a fine selection of big tunes such as Show Me Love and Don’t Call Me Baby, albeit with a funky twist.

The festival will close with an electrifying set from Brazilian DJ Fabio Bahia (Calle Ocho Leeds) who will be joined by Armando Murillo on percussion and a team of Samba dancers and Capoeira performers. Entrance to the event is completely free and your first drink from the festival bar is on Pink Gorilla if you go to www.pgpromo.co.uk and download the offer.
