Le Pain Quotidien to launch in Leeds

Belgian restaurant and boulangerie Le Pain Quotidien is delighted to be opening its doors in Leeds.

Last year saw Le Pain Quotidien celebrate its 25th anniversary as well as launch its first UK site outside of London in Bicester Village. Following this success, Le Pain Quotidien is now bringing its ‘good food that does good’ to Leeds with its first northern outpost.

Launching in October 2016 the restaurant, which will be located at Unit 16 in the new Victoria Gate Arcade, will also include an organic wine bar located upstairs and a retail area downstairs offering fresh food and pastries to take away as well as a selection of signature jams, spreads and many more delicious pantry items.

Le Pain Quotidien, prides itself on its array of fresh breads and pastries and its commitment to serving up daily plates of the freshest salads, tartines, frittatas and seasonal hot dishes. Both carnivores and vegans flock to their restaurants to enjoy the freshest, healthiest plates you can find on the high street.

With its relaxed ambiance, Le Pain Quotidien provides the perfect destination for people to escape their hectic lifestyles or unwind after a shopping spree. Guests will be able to grab a chair at LPQ’s communal table, a centerpiece seen across all restaurants, while tucking into simple, elegant food, kept organic and sourced locally and seasonally whenever possible for its ever evolving menu.

Belgian chef Alain Coumont opened the first Le Pain Quotidien in 1990 and in just over 25 years it has expanded from an organic bakery at a flea market in Brussels to a global community with over 200 restaurants in 17 countries across five continents. In that time, the offering has evolved but the concept remains essentially unchanged – a place to escape in this ever-changing and hectic world, where traditional simplicity is cherished.

Peter Jenkins, Managing Director at Le Pain Quotidien, said: "We are very excited to be opening in Leeds. With a burgeoning food scene and a fantastic, engaged community full of vibrant people of all ages, we are delighted to be part of the Leeds neighbourhood and can't wait to share our seasonal, fresh and organic food with the local community and beyond."

LPQ will also be launching its popular baking classes in Leeds, which range from fresh artisan bread recipes to seasonal cakes and cookies.
