Leeds’s home of independent shopping Leeds Corn Exchange welcomes a quartet of new tenants

Four new tenants have chosen the heart of historic Leeds as the ideal spot for them to locate their new businesses, setting up in the Grade I listed Leeds Corn Exchange. Joining the existing 28 independent shops, cafés and salons in the city’s hotspot for contemporary fashion and original gifts is a cosmetic salon and a nautical-themed gift shop, as well as two new clothing boutiques which are the only UK retailers of selected brands.

Menswear mavens All Blues Co. specialise in casual classics, heritage brands and Americana, and have a keen eye for the latest trends. All Blues Co. opened its doors this summer and has already proved popular both in-store and online, offering a range of UK exclusive goods.

The new shop sits next to MKi, one of Leeds Corn Exchange’s most established retailers and fellow menswear specialists. The addition of All Blues Co. is set to put Leeds Corn Exchange on the map as the best shopping centre in the city for alternative, limited edition contemporary men’s fashion.

Another fashion outlet which opened this September on the balcony level is Precious Proms & Pearls, a specialist boutique which stocks a stunning collection of prom dresses and evening gowns from some of the most-sought out designers in the UK and United States, including Sherri Hill, Prom Frocks, Little Black Dress and Morilee Paparazzi by Madaline Gardiner.

With two other shops in Halifax and Saltaire, Precious Proms & Pearls is one of Yorkshire’s most desired prom dress boutiques and also offers elegant evening wear that will make ladies feel a million dollars for any special occasion.

Nautical and Nice, which supplies nautical themed gifts and hand crafted presents, has opened following a string of successful stalls at the centre’s regular gift fairs. Born from a love of sailing and the outdoors, Nautical and Nice offers a beautiful range of unusual gifts not normally found on the high street. These include coastal art on driftwood, secret boxes, fused glass, aeronautical items and much more from its rustic beach themed gallery.
Rounding off the influx of new tenants is Benz and Blanc, a cosmetic solutions salon which offers a professional teeth whitening service alongside a range of natural, organic oral and skincare products which opened to the public on Saturday 24th September.

Paul De La Cruz, owner of Benz and Blanc commented, “With the imminent opening of Victoria Gate and the rise of Leeds as the go-to retail destination in the North, we knew that this was the right city for us. We love the independent shops here, so it was a no brainer to choose this as the place to open up our business. It’s important to us to be surrounded by like-minded independent businesses, and we’re really enjoying being alongside the established boutiques in the centre”.

Leeds Corn Exchange opened in 1863, at the height of the Victorian era. Designed by world-renowned architect from Hull, Cuthbert Brodrick, it operated as a traditional Corn Exchange, selling corn, wheat, barley and hops until the early 1990s. The breath-taking building is now known as the home of independent shopping in the city almost 30 boutique shops, cafes and beauty businesses call it home and it is the venue for regular events and fairs.
