The Lamb & Flag unveil fresh look and new menu

4th April 2019

The Lamb & Flag are back with a bounce this spring, unveiling a fresh interior design and revamped beer garden, an enticing new food menu and a calendar of events set to rock the city during the summer months.

Sitting pretty on the edge of Leeds Minster, The Lamb & Flag became an instant favourite with the people of Leeds when it debuted back in summer 2015. Housed in a once crumbling 19th century building, the beautifully restored pub has a quaint, countryside charm that you simply won’t find elsewhere in central Leeds.

Care has been taken to ensure that the refurbishment doesn’t take anything away from the obvious charm of the original exposed brickwork and oversized windows. Instead, the interior has been made even cosier, with a few subtle modern twists, and the restaurant area more inviting. Outside, the newly decked out beer garden has never looked better, and includes a barbecue area for the sunnier months and improved seating to enjoy your ice-cold pour of choice.

Carefully curated

Being part of the Leeds Brewery family of pubs, you can expect only the finest local cask, keg, bottle and seasonal cask brews. Whether you go for the iconic Leeds Pale, the bold Monsoon or the luxurious Hellfire, you’ll struggle to find a better pint in Yorkshire. The Lamb & Flag also stocks a carefully curated selection of premium liquors from around the globe, including no less than 20 gins.

The new food menu has remained true to the pubs Leeds roots, and is peppered with British classics from both land and sea, albeit with a unique Yorkshire spin. Highlights include the Leeds Best Battered Haddock, Rainbow Trout Niçoise Salad, and Pan Fried Sea Bass with wilted greens and lemon caper butter.

Traditionalist’s will love the Yorkshire Ploughman’s, which is served with a site baked pork pie, while the Yorkshire Dales Steak Burgers served with beer battered onion rings are well worth the extra calories.

Post work barbecue

From May onwards, The Lamb & Flag will be hosting barbecues each Friday throughout summer, making it the essential place to kickstart the weekend with a post-work tipple and bite to eat. Fizz Friday’s are another reason why you won’t want to be anywhere else when the working week is over, and offers a glass of Prosecco for just £3.50 or a bottle for £19.95.

The new events calendar also features Vegan Mondays, where you’ll find an excellent choice of meat and dairy free foodie treats that don’t break the bank. Gin Club runs between 16:00 – 20:00 Monday and Friday, and serves up singles for £4.50 and doubles for just £6.00.

Thursday is Steak Night, where you and your partner in crime can grab two steaks and a bottle of wine for just £35. And, like any traditional Yorkshire pub worth its weight in gold, you can expect an exceptional roast every Sunday between 12:00-19:00 to cap the weekend off in style.

Manager Tom Lancaster had this to say ahead of the pubs relaunch “As we fast approach our 4th birthday, we’re proud to bring The Lamb & Flag back bigger and better than ever before. We’re confident that our new look beer garden, incredible new food offering and of course, fantastic local beer will continue to make us one of the city’s premier social spots throughout summer and beyond.”
