A recent online survey on Student Hut has placed the University of Leeds as the number one university in the UK, beating the likes of University of Exeter and the University of Sheffield.

The University of Leeds has officially been voted the favourite university in the UK, based on over 40,000 real student reviews. Further, the survey, which was conducted by student reviewing site, Student Hut, shows that the city of Leeds has also been voted in the top 10 across many other areas, including nightlife, favourite student city, and top student union.

This news comes as no surprise for those familiar with what Leeds offers to resident students. With a plethora of clubs, restaurants and entertainment venues available for those studying in the city – it’s no wonder Leeds has been voted top.

A Leeds Alumnus commented: “I did my Undergraduate and Postgraduate at Leeds and loved it. It’s a great university with fantastic facilities in the middle of a great city. I’d recommend the city and uni to anyone looking to have a great uni experience in a great cosmopolitan city.”

Another commented: “Leeds is a fantastic city with something on offer for anything you’re looking for. Great live music venues with a huge variety like Brudenell, Belgrave, Headrow house, O2 and more. There’s a wide range of places to eat, so you can find anything you want with a great atmosphere easily. Also, there’s a really big party scene and you can always find fun in bars if you don’t want to stay raving until 5 am. They have heaps of activities and are super close to some fantastic nature in the dales.”
