Yorkshire Pudding Festival Set to Make A Return to Leeds

3rd May 2022

Yorkshire pudding lovers everywhere are set to rejoice as the highly anticipated Yorkshire Pudding Festival is back in Leeds on 1st and 2nd October 2022 with a unique new location on the rooftop at CitiPark Leeds Dock car park.

Ink Events world’s first festival dedicated to Yorkshire’s staple side dish attracted worldwide attention in 2020, with this year’s Yorky Pudd team going bigger, better and bolder on their quest to find out just how versatile Yorkshire’s humble ‘side dish’ can really be in 2022.

Sponsored by the Real Yorkshire Pudding Company, attendees will be able to experience a whole host of food stalls showcasing cuisines from around the world (inside Yorkshire Puddings of course!), with one of the multiple bars managed by the Yorkshire Pudding Beer Brewery showcasing Yorkshire Pudding Beer, Yorkshire Pudding Whisky, Yorkshire Pudding and Strawberry Jam Vodka, Yorkshire Pudding and Strawberry Jam Gin and Yorkshire Pudding Pink Gin!

A new attraction, the ‘Pudd Pro’s tent’, will see the World Yorkshire Pudding Champion, Chris Blackburn presenting various live cooking demonstrations for the crowds including how to make the perfect rising yorky and how to make gluten-free and vegan versions of Yorkshire’s favourite dish.

There will also be a ‘Pudd Off Challenge’, hosted by Yorkshire’s own Great British Bake-Off contestant, Sandy Docherty which is open to all attendees to battle it out to prove they make the best Yorkshire Puddings in the world!

With the addition of craft and vintage stalls, live music on the ‘Gravy Stage’ and a dedicated children’s activity area, the weekend festival really will have something for all the family.

Ben Vollans, Event Production Manager of Ink Events said,

“We were blown away with the success of our inaugural Yorkshire Pudding Festival where we welcomed over 10,000 visitors.  It was incredible to see so many people there to celebrate our shared love of the Yorkshire Pudding with guests travelling from as far as Singapore! In hindsight, if we knew this many people were going to come to our event, we would have made it much bigger and longer.

“With that in mind, this year we have decided to move the festival to a much bigger location, and we are spreading it out over a full weekend to make sure our guests get as much enjoyment out of the experience as possible.
“We are excited to work with the ethically responsible Real Yorkshire Pudding Company (who loves Yorkshire Puddings as much as we do!)  and can’t wait for visitors to experience what”
.

This year’s festival will be held at the unique new venue, the rooftop of the CitiPark Leeds Dock branch.
Ben Ziff, Managing Director for CitiPark commented,

“Following the repurposing of our Leeds Merrion Centre branch roof space last Summer for the highly successful MultStories pop up event, we are thrilled once again to welcome a new concept to the city this time at our Leeds Dock branch.

Offering plenty of space for both food vendors and for festival visitors to park, we are confident this year’s Yorkshire Pudding Festival will prove highly popular with those in search of a unique experience in the heart of Leeds”.
