A specially-devised class of inspiration for GCSE students

The Brontë Parsonage Museum is filled with everyday domestic objects that were used by the family, and have subsequently become imbued with significance. Our special exhibition this year focuses on Patrick Brontë and explore, through a number of objects, how illness, poor health and death plagued his life. Be inspired in the company of John Agard, where you will be encouraged to respond creatively to the 'cabinet of curiosities' you encounter in the museum collection.

We're delighted to welcome poet, playwright and children's writer John Agard to Haworth through a collaboration with Renaissance One. Known for his satirical wit, John gives readings around the world and in 2012 he was a recipient of the Queen's Gold Medal for Poetry. His books for children and adults include We Brits, Alternative Anthem, Einstein, The Girl Who Hated Maths and most recently The Coming of the Little Green Man. John is known for his inspiring work with young people and adults, particularly his visits to schools, and his poems are featured in the English GCSE anthology.
