Meet Mrs Norton - Suffragette

Meet Mrs Norton - Suffragette

Details

Meet Mrs Norton - Suffragette (aka Irene Lofthouse - actress and storyteller).

Mrs Norton will offer children and families the chance to find out first hand from a local Suffragette about her experience fighting for the right to vote including protests in Bradford and London and a time in jail. Find out who exactly got the vote in 1918, how the press reported events leading to the act of Parliament and what the significance was to us all.

There will be an opportunity to view the exhibition 'Vote 100: Suffragettes and Propaganda' in the Suffragette Campaign Office (Cellar Gallery) as well as making the flower and ribbon badges traditionally worn by Suffragettes.

Feel free to dress up!

Free entry with a £1 donation welcome.
