On the 6th June 1988, the Yorkshire Mining Museum opened its doors to the public for the first time. 2018 marks the 30th anniversary of this important and historic event.

To mark this milestone, the Museum will be hosting a day to remember our past, celebrate our present and look forward to our future.

Bring your own picnic for the Big Miners' Picnic or buy one from our cafe and come join the fun.

* FREE afternoon showing of the film Brassed Off
* Northern World War Two Association re-enactment at Hope Pit
