The Black Bull


The Black Bull is reputed to be the oldest pub in Otley ( early 1600s) and famous for having been drunk dry by Cromwell’s troops on the eve of the battle of Marston Moor in the English Civil war. Also it is reputed to be one of the haunted pubs in Otley. Situated is a splendid central location in the town’s market place. Visitors step down into the pub slightly below street level where stone floors and low oak beams are original giving the bar a very traditional old English pub atmosphere. Pub food includes vegetarian options and is available 12 to 2.30pm. There is an outdoor seated area at the rear. Children and dogs are welcome.
