Forgotten Women of Wakefield


As part of the Dream Time Creative project Forgotten Women of Wakefield, The Hepworth Wakefield is pleased to co-host a very special event with Wakefield Civic Society and unveil a blue plaque to celebrate the life and work of Wakefield-born watercolourist Louisa Fennell (1847-1930).

Fennell painted many images of the city and places further afield while being active in the suffrage movement. Many of her works are held in the Wakefield Permanent Art Collection and a selected painting will be on display in the gallery.

11.45am: Reading from Forgotten Women of Wakefield participants
