Keighley's War

Keighley's War

Details

In 2018 Cliffe Castle commemorates the centenary of the end of the First World War. Keighley's War celebrates this important event and commemorates the contribution of those in the district whose lives were changed by world events.

Fighting at the Front, building disinfecting machines, working in the shell factories, opening War Hospitals and developing a ground-breaking Food Saving campaign; everyone in Keighley was affected by the war.

The spirit and determination that they showed deserves our reflection.

From photos and medals to paintings and toys, this new exhibition takes visitors on a journey through our ancestor's lives in the spectacular setting of Cliffe Castle.

We would like to thank Men of Worth, Keighley Local Studies Library and artist Deborah Rehmat for their help and support during the making of this exhibition.

Please Note Cliffe Castle is closed Mondays. Open Tuesday - Friday 10:00am- 04:00pm. Saturday & Sunday & Bank Holiday Mondays 11:00am - 05:00pm
