Peace Day Celebrations

Peace Day Celebrations

Details

Join us at Bradford Industrial Museum, on Sunday the 21st of July, to celebrate the centenary of Peace Day. To commemorate the end of WW1 the 19th of July 1919 was declared a national peace day, with celebrations held around the country.

We will be celebrating Peace Day with West Yorkshire military re-enactors. Come and meet the cavalry, royal artillery and nurses and find out what life was like after the war had ended.

There will also be a programme of talks and presentations delivered throughout the day about Bradford during WW1, the post-war peace process and the peace day celebrations

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission will also be onsite providing access to the war graves database. Visitors can search for their loved ones and find out more about the role they played during WW1.

The Halifax Branch of the Yorkshire Volunteers Association will be selling food and drink from an outdoor field kitchen.

10am - 4pm

Entry is free, donation boxes can be found around the site and are always welcome and appreciated.
