Sachiko Furuhata-Kersting studied music in Tokyo, before moving to Europe, where she continued her studies and performed recitals, as well as featuring as a soloist with orchestras from France, Italy, Spain, Germany, and Russia.

In 2012 she was appointed as a ‘Steinway Artist’ by Steinway & Sons, joining an exclusive family of artists including Vladimir Horowitz and Lang Lang. Later that year she had her debut performance at the famous Suntory Hall in Tokyo. Sachiko is a subtle player with glorious tones and her piano virtuosity, is the very best.

Leeds City Station, situated on New Station Street, is approximately a 10-minute walk from Leeds College of Music.

Leeds Central Coach Station is situated on Dyer Street between Quarry Hill and Kirkgate Market, opposite the West Yorkshire Playhouse and just two minutes from Leeds College of Music. Regular services operate from Hull, London and Manchester Airport.

Leeds is located at the crossroads of the M62 and the M1, and just a few kilometres from the A1.

When entering the city, follow the brown road signs for ‘West Yorkshire Playhouse’ at Quarry Hill, just off the A64 York Road in the centre of Leeds – or you can follow the City Centre Loop signs.

Major attractions, including the West Yorkshire Playhouse, are identified on the Loop signs. The Conservatoire is at Loop Junction 12.

Please note the Conservatoire does not have any car parking space. We recommend that visitors use the multi-storey car park on Harper Street near Leeds Kirkgate Market.
