Championship Rugby Union side, Yorkshire Carnegie, play in the Greene King IPA Championship at Emerald Headingley Stadium.
As home to not only Yorkshire Carnegie, but also Super League Champions Leeds Rhinos and Yorkshire County Cricket Club, Emerald Headingley Stadium is something of a sporting crucible. Located in north-west Leeds and in the very heart of Headingley, the stadium is within minutes’ walk to a thriving area full of brilliant pubs, bars and eateries, and is only a short hop from the bustle and bright lights of Leeds city centre too.
Leeds RUFC was founded in 1991 after the merger of Roundhay and Headingley. They were renamed Leeds Tykes in 1998, then became Leeds Carnegie in 2007 and in 2014 launched as Yorkshire Carnegie.
Leeds Rugby have won various awards including Leeds Rhinos 2004 and 2007 Superleague Champion, Best Programme and Highest Average in Superleague. Leeds Carnegie won the National League One Championship in 2006.
