From Chile to Zimbabwe

From Chile to Zimbabwe

The opening event for World On Our Doorstep.

As part of the World on Our Doorstep Festival Mestisa presents Music and Love Band, alongside Agua Dulce and Mestisa. a whole event of music from Chile to Zimbabwe to listen and dance to!

Music and Love Band, performs high energy songs inspired by the townships of Zimbabwe.

Bringing together musicians and singers from Zimbabwe, Mexico, Gambia and UK, they fuse traditional African instruments such as balafon, kora, sabar drums, djembes and duns with guitar and saxophone. They create melodic, feel- good music and drum rhythms that capture the spirit of Africa and summons the audience to dance. You will love them! []

The evening will start with Agua Dulce, the Chilean/UK duo and newly weds Constanza and Simon.

Agua Dulce are a Leeds based acoustic duo, performing self penned instrumentals and traditional folk music. With soaring violin melodies and rhythmic banjo and guitar they bring a new voice to the traditional music of Latin America and Great Britain.

Bridging these two worlds will be Mestisa playing a set of beautiful songs from Latin America, with Chilean Tonadas, Huaynos from the Andes, Cumbia from Colombia and much more. []
