Basie Big Band

Basie Big Band

During the World on Our Doorstep [] weekend; and in association with JazzLeeds [], a Big Band experience of classic Count Basie.

Suit up, grab a drink and enjoy a nostalgic afternoon of Count Basie’s Big Band repertoire!.

As part of the “World on our Doorstep” festival, Jazz Leeds present a nostalgic trip though the Swing era. The Eastgate Big band take the best of the big band genre and apply it to new projects proving that big bands can be as relevant as they ever have been in the modern music scene as well as respect the long-standing tradition. They will take you back to the early 50’s for a performance of Count Basie’s Big Band repertoire. No amps, no PA, no mics, no keyboard!

Rhythm: Tom Higham, Sam Foster, Fergus Quill, Joe Boyes, Keiran Gunter, Saxes: Dan Brunskill, Rose Perry, James Boyes, Ben Lowman, Jack Chandler, Trombones: Danny Barley, Elliot Crouch, Charlie Knighton, Pat Martin, Trumpets: Ciaran Diston, Tom Hill, Dan Coulthurst, Tom Sharp.
