Tom Ridout is a 23 year old saxophonist/recorder player and composer from London. “No Excuses” is his 13 piece ensemble with influences including jazz, folk, 60’s rock/pop and early 20th century tonal classical music. It includes some of the brightest young jazz musicians on the London jazz scene at the moment such as Alexandra Ridout winner of the BBC Young Jazz Musician of the year in 2017.

Award winning saxophonist, recorder player, composer and arranger Tom Ridout was predicted by Jazzwise Magazine in 2012 as an upcoming jazz musician to watch out for. A recent graduate from the prestigious Royal Academy of Music, finalist in the BBC Young Musician Jazz Award 2016,Tom is a prolific composer who fronts his own bands playing his original compositions.

The No Excuses band features an up to 13 piece ensemble consisting of the Quintet (sax/recorder, guitar, piano, bass, drums) with added second guitar, string quartet and brass trio (flugelhorn, french horn and trombone).The influences for this album come from a wide range of musical sources including; jazz, folk, 60s rock/pop and 20th century tonal classical.

    By Car: Seven is based on Harrogate Road (A58) near the centre of Chapel Allerton. Find us just below Casa Mia Grande. It's opposite the Library and 30 yards down the road towards Leeds City Centre.

    By Public Transport: Regular buses run to the venue from the city centre (number 2, 3 or 3A) or from Headingley and Harehills (number 91).

    There is no parking at Seven, but on-street parking is available on Harrogate Road and out-of-hours behind the Somerfield supermarket.
