A Mile in Refugee's Shoes plus Sanctuary Supper

A Mile in Refugee's Shoes plus Sanctuary Supper

In collaboration with Leeds City Museum, local social enterprise 'Tales of a City Tours' are running a series of monthly walking tours around Leeds city centre, led by tour guides with a refugee background.

Join us in celebrating the city's diversity as we hear stories of culture and countries from around the world. The Tales of a City guides will ask you to walk a mile (or so) in their shoes as they take you on a journey around Leeds city centre, sharing their own personal experiences of being a newcomer to the city they now call home.

The tour will finish at Leeds City Museum with a 'Sanctuary Supper', delicious home cooked food made by volunteers from refugee community groups. A 'City of Sanctuary' project, the Sanctuary Suppers help people from all walks of life to reach across borders and cultural barriers to build stronger relationships and connections. A mix of vegan, vegetarian and non-vegetarian food will be provided.

We have two amazing tour guides: Rawand from Iraqi Kurdistan, and Lilly, who is originally from South Africa. Depending on the tour, the starting location will be different (although both very central!). Please check the Eventbrite page for start and end location. The tour will take around an hour and a half. Please be prepared for all weathers and wear comfy shoes.

We look forward to seeing you there!
