Celebrating Women’s Animation from Near and Far

Celebrating Women’s Animation from Near and Far

Part of 'Anim18: A Celebration of British Animation’ and of Scalarama

This 90-minute programme, presented by Leeds Animation Workshop, will include a couple of old and new favourites from the women’s collective, who for 40 years have been making animated films in Leeds, and sending them round the world.

In addition they will screen an exciting selection of women’s work from much further afield - including short films by indigenous artists, and young animators, never before seen in this country.

Featured are powerful and poetic works about First Nation heritage by Inuit and Siberian film-makers, alongside two of the new generation of Czech animators – young women launching their own fresh style within a great tradition of individuality and humour.

With Speaker: Rona Murray - and Q & A
