Film, Sun 21 - Thu 25 Apr 2019

Oscar-winning director Paolo Sorrentino’s (The Great Beauty, The Young Pope) film Loro (ital. ‘Them’) throws a sharp glance at Berlusconi (Toni Servillo) in his second and third terms as prime minister. Rather than focus solely on the infamous prime minister, viewers are invited to judge the actions of those people who try to get closer to the politician… Or as far away from him as possible. Who are those people in power, owners of glamorous villas, ambitious and corrupted, vulgar, involved in never-ending fraud cases and sex scandals?

Toni Servillo (Il Divo, The Great Beauty) masterfully portrays flamboyant Silvio Berlusconi in the turbulent period of his life as his political status is endangered and the relationship with his second wife, Veronica Lario (Elena Sofia Ricci), is falling apart.
