York Gate Garden Talk

York Gate Garden Talk

Details

York Gate is widely recognized as one of the UK's finest examples of 20th century garden design. At Adel in north Leeds, it packs fourteen individual gardens into one acre, each with its own distinct character but together offering a series of stunning vistas.

When it re-opens in April 2020, visitors will be able to see the many changes that have been taking place since last autumn, and this talk will provide listeners with one of the first opportunities to hear about them, hot off the presses! For a start, there will be more garden to see....

The talk is an illustrated tour around York Gate, given by Meg Morton who has been a garden volunteer for 18 years. She will also include information about Perennial, the horticultural charity that now owns it, the garden's history and development, and about the Spencer family who designed and cared for it.
