Granary Wharf
As part of the Desmond Family Canoe Trail’s arrival in Leeds, Granary Wharf will be transformed into a hub of free activities for families to enjoy. Running over both days from 10am till 4pm there will be water based activities, music and entertainment, historic heritage boats and for the first time in Waterfront festival history a giant climbing wall.

Free activities include:

8ft climbing wall
Mini interactive workshops with Premier Martial Arts
Fishing sessions
Canoe/kayak and paddle boarding delivered by the Desmond Family Canoe Trail team and White Rose Canoe Club

Music – artists including Hyde Park Brass and banjo Jen will be performing on the Saturday from our Granary Wharf stage. You can enjoy this while relaxing on our stripy deck chairs.

We have also increased the number of boats from 2pm to 4pm running from Granary Wharf to Leeds Dock (and back) throughout the weekend.

Saturday 23 June

10am – dragon boat races
11am - 6pm – street food provided by the British street food awards finalists northern heats
12 noon - 4pm pop up and play activity station learn to be a pirate
4pm - 6pm - released records 7” disco

Sunday 24 June
11am – 4pm  British street food awards finals
12 noon - 4pm - live music
12 noon - 4pm - pop up and play activity station learn to be a pirate
12 noon - 4pm -  Leeds strongest human + truck pull
3pm - close to the bone city dog show.

Royal Armouries at Leeds Dock

10am - 4pm - Life on the ocean wave
Discover what life at sea would have been like during the golden age of piracy. Explore an 18th-century naval encampment and meet members of the Royal Navy and their pirate foes
12 noon - Pirate battle
Amphitheatre, Royal Armouries Museum. Trouble is brewing at Leeds Dock as pirates clash with the Royal Navy on land and water.
3pm - Big guns galore, Amphitheatre, Royal Armouries Museum. Spectacular demonstration of cannons and firearms used by pirates and the Royal Navy.
10am - 5pm - Legends: Blackbeard, Royal Armouries Museum. Join us inside the museum for an action-packed programme of events featuring this notorious 18th-century pirate captain.
7pm - Treasure Island, join esteemed storyteller Tim Ralphs as he performs his adaptation of Robert Louise Stevenson’s classic Treasure Island, Bury Theatre, Royal Armouries Museum.

12 noon - Resident DJ’s: The sounds of summer
1.30pm - Karaoke competition ‘Sing it to win it’
3pm - Live music from the rebel sounds – playing the best in party and club classics
5pm - Brazilian DJ Fabio Bahia (Calle Ocho Leeds) alongside Armando Murillo on percussion – Bringing summer fiesta Latin vibes to Brewary Wharf along with authentic Brazilian samaba dancers and capoeira performers.
